Definition:Define “Journalism” in 1-3 sentences.
Is the spreading of current events that are news worthy through magazine and other resources.
List and describe the six criteria of newsworthiness.

1. timeliness- we care about things that are current.
2. proximity- care about things that are near us.
3. significance- major event like 9/11.
4. prominance- more popular people. (care about celebrities.)
5. unusualness- news that is very unusual. (like octupletes.)
6. human interest- a story that is positive and puts a twist on things.
What are the advantages of print journalism?
1. allows you to chose what kinds of news you want to print.
2. more detail in print.
3. Can go back and go over things.
What are the advantages of broadcast journalism?
1. More current.
2. got video and audio to highlight what actually happened.
3. It's free.
Why has online journalism become so popular?
technology is a big part and people are always using the computer.
